The lens, like other S-series lenses, is modern and has a new design. It uses ED lenses to eliminate distortion and four aspherical lens elements. Ghosting and flare are kept under control with Nano Crystal Coat. The Nikon 24mm S is also protected from dust and weather sealing improves protection.
