The Nikon Nikkor Z 85mm is a fast telephoto lens for full-frame mirrorless bodies like the Nikon Z6. The lens is particularly well suited for portraiture and sports photography, for example, when a longer focal length is not required.

The Nikon Z 85mm f/1.8 is a completely new optical design, the lens structure is completely different from the Nikon AF-S 85mm F1.8G lens for F-mount SLR cameras. It uses more special lenses such as two aspherical elements and 2 ED elements. And this is also reflected in the image quality. The lens has 9 rounded diaphragm plates, so objects outside the depth of field are beautifully soft and the sharp object stands out impressively from the background.

The Nikkor Z also allows you to use a 5-axis power adjustment from the body stabilizer, when used with an adapter the stabilizer is only 3-axis. The focus motor is also practically silent, which means the lens is great for video shooting.

The lens has a wide focus ring that can be programmed when using autofocus, for example, to adjust the aperture or compensate for exposure. In manual focus mode, the focus speed is determined by how quickly or slowly you turn the ring, the focus ring is also suitably damped and has a good feel. This allows for really subtle focusing at best
