The Canon RF 135mm f/1.8L IS USM is a fast telephoto lens for professional portraiture, for example. The lens is designed to utilize the new Canon RF lens mount and the RF 135mm is completely redesigned and based on a new optical structure than the older EF 135mm F2 lens. The lens elements are large in modern style, with an 82mm filter thread and stabilizer, but the weight is under a kilo, which is quite reasonable and this is great for handheld work.

When shooting without a tripod in the middle of changing situations, you will also appreciate the fast focusing and new usability features. Thanks to this speed, the lens is definitely not just for portrait photographers. The short telephoto offers great features for sports and event photography, not to mention nature. The large and tactile focus ring is also customizable, and the focus rotation direction can be adjusted in the camera settings.

The lens's Nano USM focusing motor is fast and silent. Because the EOS R series cameras' Dual Pixel AF focusing system works at the sensor level, it is absolutely precise. There is no longer a need for calibration tables and focus micro-adjustments like on SLR cameras. This is especially useful with fast telephoto lenses because the depth of field is very narrow at f/1.8.

Fluorine-coated front element, Super Spectra and ASC coatings. ASC multi-layer coating technology reduces flare and ghosting more effectively than traditional techniques.
