We provide a 3-year warranty on Canon lenses when purchased by a private individual. No separate registration is required. For companies and organizations, the warranty is 12 months.

Which lens for Canon camera

Canon makes lenses for a variety of mounts. Here is a list of the different lens types.

  • Canon EF -marked lenses are compatible with all EOS cameras.
  • Canon EF-S lenses are lenses designed for crop sensor (APS-C) cameras. They are not suitable for full sensor cameras.
  • Lenses marked with the Canon EF-M designation are lenses intended for mirrorless cameras (i.e. EOS M).
  • Canon TS (Tilt-Shift), TS-E (Tilt-Shift, Electronic aperture) Tilt-Shift lenses make it possible to correct perspective when shooting by tilting and moving the lens in relation to the sensor.

In addition to Canon, these types of lenses are manufactured by Sigma and Tamron, for example. The markings of different manufacturers differ slightly, but the most important information for compatibility is the type of mount and what size sensor the optics are suitable for. You can always ask our customer service for help!

Canon lens markings

In addition to the mount, the lenses also have information about other features. In addition to these, all lenses mention the filter thread size, focal length and aperture.

  • The IS (Image Stabilization) marking indicates that the Canon lens has image stabilization.
  • The USM (Ultra-sonic Motor) designation stands for ultrasonic focusing, which is faster and quieter than a traditional focusing motor.
  • STM (Stepping Motor) is a quiet and smooth focusing motor that is especially suitable for video shooting.
  • L -series lenses are known for their extremely high performance and superior quality compared to other lenses. These are those big white tubes on the sidelines of sports fields!
