Canon RF 85mm F1.4 L VCM

Canon RF 85mm F1.4 L VCM lens

The Canon RF 85mm F1.4 L VCM is part of the manufacturer's hybrid prime lens series, meaning this new lens is designed for demanding photography and video shooting.

The aperture is slightly lower than the top F1.2 model, but this is compensated by the very fast VCM autofocus. This makes it a great option for video productions and fast-paced event photography, without forgetting traditional uses such as portrait photography.

• Completely new design, optically good image quality and very fast AF
• L-Series weatherproof professional construction
• focus breathing minimized to cinema level

• aperture control ring, programmable control ring and programmable button
• ultra-fast VCM autofocus

The most significant change in these hybrid line lenses is the VCM (Voice Coil Motor) focus motor and the traditional Nano USM (two focus motors that move different lens groups). The benefit of this is very fast and practically silent focusing.

For the first time, aperture can be adjusted directly from the lens using the RF series lenses. The aperture ring can also be locked in the automatic position, and aperture adjustment is done through the camera, just like with other lenses.

The size and weight of the lens is very similar to other Canon VCM models, meaning the gimbal stabilizer and rig adjustments can be kept at the same settings.

The Canon RF 85mm F1.4 L VCM is weather and dust protected.
