Canon RF 14-35mm F4 L IS USM lens

The new RF mount and mirrorless technology allow for wider focal lengths with less distortion, and now Canon has taken full advantage of this technology. The focal length now starts at an ultra-wide 14mm setting.

With such a wide focal length, every millimeter counts, you get more interior space in the same shot inside buildings, a wider view of the landscape, or a larger part of the starry sky in the same shot.

The Canon RF 14-35mm is a great all-around wide-angle lens if you don't need the F2.8 aperture of the top-of-the-line 15-35mm. This lens offers an even wider wide-angle setting, sharp image quality right at full aperture, and effective image stabilization.

Usability is improved by the programmable control ring used in RF lenses, which allows, for example, aperture adjustment or exposure compensation. The lens' filter thread is a very reasonable size of 77mm, meaning that despite the very wide angle of view, normal filters can be used.

Fast autofocus helps when shooting video. The change in image size when focusing, or so-called focus breathing, is reasonably well minimized and does not interfere with video recording. The closest focusing distance is only 20cm at all zoom positions, which means that this allows for quite sharp angles of view.
