Now it's small! The Tamron 150-500mm is a super telephoto lens that fits on all trips. In transport mode, it's only 21cm long, which is the same as the short side of an A4 sheet of paper! At full zoom, it's 28cm long, which is the same as the long side of the paper. Try using a sheet of paper to see how small this lens really is.
Tamron's 150-500mm is a telephoto lens that delivers on the promises of small size made when mirrorless cameras first hit the market. It took a few years, but this new product from Tamron is both small and light considering its features.
The zoom lock makes it easier to carry around, so you can hang it on the included strap. The sales package includes a tripod mount and this is immediately Arca-Swiss compatible, so for example with Sirui tripods you don't need a separate quick plate at all.
This is particularly well suited for nature and sports photography. Due to its size and center of gravity, it is easy to react to even rapid movement, whether it is a flying bird or an athlete.
The image stabilizer has three different modes, a normal panning mode for capturing horizontal movement, and a mode that facilitates precise framing, in which you get the most out of the camera's pixels without the stabilizer element unexpectedly changing the framing.
The autofocus motor is fast, so subject tracking is easy and noise is minimal for video shooting. The Tamron 150-500mm is compatible with all of Sony's advanced AF features, including eye focus.
The lens is weatherproof
