The Panasonic 24-70mm f/2.8 is a professional zoom lens designed for full-frame L-mount cameras such as the Panasonic S1 and S1R. The L-mount is also used in the new Leica SL2 camera, for example.
The lens is a completely new design, specifically designed for high-resolution mirrorless and full-frame cameras and manufactured without compromise. The lens also carries the Certified by Leica label.
The lens uses an axial focusing system with both a linear motor and a stepping motor. Along with autofocus that updates 480 times per second, it helps photographers capture even fast movement.
Also for video recording
The Panasonic 24-70mm adjusts the aperture smoothly, so there are no sudden changes in exposure. The autofocus is quiet, which allows the sound of the shot to be recorded better. Panasonic's S-series lenses also pay attention to minimizing the Focus breathing phenomenon, which is when the image size does not change when adjusting the focus.
Even for heavy use
Like Panasonic S-series bodies and other Pro lenses, the Panasonic 24-70mm is weather and dust protected and mechanically of very high quality.
Modern optical design and lots of special lenses
18 lenses in 16 groups:
– 3 aspherical lenses
– 4 Extra-Low Dispersion lenses
– 1 Ultra High Refractive Index lens
Aspherical (ASPH) lenses reduce size and weight and effectively prevent spherical aberrations and distortions. Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) lenses correct chromatic aberrations and give images sharp, high contrast and clear colors from corner to corner. Ultra-High Refractive Index (UHR) lenses improve optical performance, reduce size and weight, and provide consistent image quality from the center of the image to the edges.
