A super telephoto zoom lens designed for Panasonic full-frame cameras. Despite the long focal length, the lens weighs only 1.3kg. The light weight combined with image stabilization also enables handheld shooting.

These lenses are at their best when shooting nature and wildlife. The lens contains two linear motors to move the focusing elements. Thanks to the fast autofocus, the 100-500mm is also suitable for shooting motor sports. In addition to the speed, the focusing is also quite quiet.

The focal length of 100-500mm is the longest in Panasonic's range, and the lens is also compatible with 1.4X and 2X teleconverters, so you can get a focal length equivalent to up to 1000mm from the lens. V

For concept photography, the lens works with the Hybrid Zoom feature, meaning that when zooming on new Panasonic bodies, digital zoom is used, which does not degrade image quality. This means you get a huge focal length range that can be adjusted directly, without having to change settings in the menus. In this case, when shooting video with the 2x teleconverter, the maximum focal length is up to 3125mm.

Panasonic's L-Mount cameras include in-body image stabilization, but this lens also supports Dual IS 2 and Cropless EIS stabilization, meaning that the lens stabilization and in-body stabilization work together. The stabilization effect is then up to 7 f-stops. For example, this feature does not work on Sigma telephoto zooms.

Handheld shooting has also been taken into account in other ways, the stiffness of the zoom can be adjusted as desired, so the focal length cannot change when moving around in the field. In addition, the tripod collar that comes with it is removable. The focus ring is programmable, meaning that for example exposure or aperture can be adjusted directly from the lens with compatible cameras.
