The Nikkor Z 28mm is a fast lens designed for full-frame Z-series cameras, which also works with DX bodies. This SE (special edition) lens was released specifically with the Nikon Z fc camera in mind, and the lens's appearance exudes the same retro vibe as the camera body.

On DX-sensor cameras, the 28mm lens is equivalent to a 42mm lens in cine format, making it versatile for portrait photography and landscape recording, as well as for everyday use and vlogging. The physical size of the lens also doesn't come into play when you're on the go.

Like other NIKKOR Z lenses, the control ring is programmable. The default function is manual focus, but you can also program the ring to adjust aperture, ISO sensitivity, or exposure compensation, for example.

In manual focus mode, the focus speed is determined by how fast or slow you turn the ring, and the focus ring is also suitably damped and has a good feel. This allows for really subtle focusing at best.
