The Joby Gorillapod 1K Stand is a sturdy and flexible camera stand that can support a DSLR camera and optics (max. 1kg). It does not come with a quick release plate, but the camera attaches to the Gorillapod's ball head with a universal 1/4' thread. The ball head can also be removed, so the BallHead 1K can be used on any other tripod with a traditional 1/4' thread.
The Joby Gorillapod differs from a traditional tripod in that you can modify and bend it into different positions and locations thanks to the ball joints. You can bend the tripod around a tree branch, a pole, a fence, the side of a boat or even the roll bar of a racing car. The tripod also stands like a traditional tripod, for example on a table. Thanks to the folding legs, the Gorillapod can be made to stand firmly on uneven surfaces.
The Gorillapod Hybrid 1K Stand is intended for a system camera with optics, a video camera, and for example any studio equipment that attaches to a 1/4” thread.
