The 7050C's strength is its ability to reproduce bass very low, down to 24 Hz . This is a range that most standard speakers cannot reproduce at all, but which contains the power of movies and modern music that can be felt in the body.

What are the benefits of a separate subwoofer?

When you add the 7050C to your system, you not only hear more bass, you also improve the performance of your entire system. The subwoofer's active crossover filters out frequencies below 85 Hz and sends only the higher frequencies to the main speakers.

This bass control dramatically reduces the load on the main speakers. The result? Your main speakers will sound cleaner, louder, and have a sharper stereo image because their small bass drivers no longer have to struggle with the lowest frequencies.

Is 7050C or 7040A the right choice for me?

The right choice depends on what speakers you use and what kind of material you listen to:

• Choose the 7050C if you are using Genelec 8030 series speakers (or their home version G Three) or if you are building a 5.1 surround system (e.g. 5 x 8020). This model has connections for five speakers and an LFE channel. It is also the right choice if you need absolute dimension (24 Hz vs 30 Hz). Of course, it is also suitable for smaller speakers.
• Choose the smaller 7040A if you have a pair of 8010s or 8020s in stereo and your space is very limited.

Placement and adjustments made easy

While the 7050C is powerful, it is easy to place. Genelec's LSE enclosure is slim, so it often fits unobtrusively next to furniture. For best results, place the subwoofer on the front wall, slightly off center.

The subwoofer's rear panel features professional-grade controls, such as phase matching and "Bass Roll-Off." These ensure that the bass integrates seamlessly with the main speakers and doesn't boom, no matter what your room is like. There's also a "Bypass" switch that lets you bypass the subwoofer on the fly - a great feature for checking your mix!

Technology and connections

At the heart of the device is Genelec's unique LSE (Laminar Spiral Enclosure) structure. The spiral-shaped sheet metal structure makes the enclosure extremely rigid and allows for a long reflex tube, which produces accurate and dynamic bass without blowing sounds.

The 7050C includes full 5.1 bass management: 5 x XLR IN, 5 x XLR OUT, and a separate LFE IN (Low Frequency Effects) for movie use.

Also suitable for the so-called G Two and G Three home range speakers with suitable adapter cables.
