Compact and lightweight 800mm super telephoto! This lens is also available in a shorter RF 600mm version. A very portable option for wildlife photography on safari or detailed images of domestic birds. Also suitable for surveillance and government use.
This is not an old-fashioned mirror telephoto lens . The lens uses DO technology, which allows for a smaller size, and its structure is telescopic. The lens has no mirrors, so light transmission is better.
With better light transmission and the autofocus of the Canon EOS R series bodies that works very well even in low light, the RF 800mm works with both the RF 1.4X and 2x teleconverters! This gives you a whopping focal length of 1120mm and 1600mm. When using the teleconverters, the focusing is quieter, but usable.

The Canon RF 800mm is constructed using DO technology, although this is not apparent from the name and the lens does not include a green ring. In addition to this technology, the lens can be opened in a telescopic style. The transport length is less than 20cm and the length in the shooting position is approximately 27cm.
To compensate for the light power, the lens has an effective five-stop image stabilizer. Thanks to the very long focal length, the depth of field is also shallow, meaning the background can be blurred to emphasize the subject. Unlike SLRs, the background is also beautifully blurred thanks to the fixed and always round aperture.
