The Leica Vario Elmarit-SL 24-70mm f/2.8 is a brighter and 300g lighter option than the previous Leica 24-90mm lens for L-mount bodies.
Externally, this is a true Leica: all-metal construction, weather and dust protected. The focal lengths are clearly marked but there are no buttons, so manual focus is done directly by turning the focus ring. The lens does not have image stabilization like its big brother, the 24-90mm.
The optical performance of this Vario-Elmarit-SL 24–70 f/2.8 ASPH lens meets Leica criteria, and is made in Japan. 19 lens elements, three aspherical elements and a total of six elements with aspherical correction surfaces provide image quality throughout the entire focal range.
All of these lens features are available on Leica's own cameras, such as the SL, SL2, and all other L-mount cameras.
