Zooming is smooth thanks to the air circulation system, which also prevents moisture and dust from entering the lens surfaces. Like FUJIFILM XF series lenses, it has a durable metal construction that gives a high-quality feel, and a manual aperture ring that makes the lens great to handle.

The optics use four aspherical and two ED glass elements, which ensure good color tones and detailed images.
