The Celestron Nextar Evolution is, as its name suggests, an improved version of the popular Nexstar telescopes. The Celestron Nexstar Evolution has a powerful internal battery that can last all night long even in cold temperatures , eliminating the need to hook up power banks to the tripod or change batteries. The battery is said to last for about 10 hours, and the tripod has a USB port, so you can charge your phone or power your camera through the telescope.

The tripod that handles tracking and target search is more sturdy, includes a worm gear solution and more powerful motors for the first time in devices of this level. With the power on, the tripod functions as a manual tripod using switches and you can aim it directly by moving it manually.

The accuracy of the motor and mechanism is now at a level where Celestron says photography is possible directly, i.e. just add a camera-specific adapter, attach a system camera and you can take astrophotos . For longer exposures, you need the Pro HD Wegde accessory, but exposures of about half a minute would be possible directly. This is a good number for such a long focal length and provides a good starting point for building impressive images by so-called stacking multiple exposures into one final image.
