This Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 has been completely redesigned for the mirrorless RF mount. The lens has better micro contrast and better line definition than the EF models. The sharpness of the line, especially at the edges, is clearly better in the test images provided by Canon and we expect a lot from the first comparison tests.

The Canon RF 50mm 1.8 works great with the slower 24-105mm zoom, for example. With this lens you achieve a shallow depth of field and control the depth of field effectively. Whether it's food photography or portraits, you get a beautifully soft background and the subject is always in the spotlight.

The lens is only 40.5mm long, which is only slightly larger than the adapter required when using an EF lens. The filter thread is also 43mm in size.
