At the same time, we will hear thoughts on what has been a good purchase and also thoughts on what could have been left out of the purchase. We hope that the experiences will be of joy to other hobby photographers who are considering equipment purchases.
The camera backpack has been opened for us by 4 different photographers, each of whom has their own way of practicing photography.
During my amateur years, I actively photographed in nature and on trips. Sometimes we traveled long distances in the countryside, which only emphasized the lightness and portability of the equipment.
My favorite camera body was definitely Fujifilm's XT3, which followed the X-T2 and 1. This was often accompanied by a Fujinon 55-200 mm telephoto lens on trips, which was a bit of an all-around lens. For shooting stars and the northern lights, I mostly used the Samyang 12 mm f2.0 lens. The Fujinon XF 35 mm f2.0 was one of my favorites, due to its small size and bright light.
Many of Peak Design's products have been around since the hobbyist years until today. Like Peak's MicroAnchor anchor loops and the compatible Slide camera strap. Peak Design's Everyday Backpack has also been around for many years.
Sirui's small travel tripod. A small, lightweight and easy-to-carry tripod purchased in a hurry, it supported light equipment very well. These features are appreciated in the field. Since then, the shooting locations have changed and as the weight of the equipment has increased, the Sirui tripod has become useless.
The Hähnel remote shutter release purchased for night photography did its job wired and wirelessly.
Variable ND filter. My favorite moments on trips were sitting on a sandy beach as the sun rose and taking long exposure photos of the calm sea in front of me. The Variable ND filter was a reliable companion in these moments, as I didn't have to change the filter in sandy conditions.
