The first lens in Samyang's new Prima series. Samyang has released several of these 35mm F1.4 lenses and this Prima is the third generation. The camera world, and especially Sony cameras, have come a long way in this time and the requirements for autofocus speed and resolution are quite different.

So, like Samyang, you get bright light and image quality at a reasonable price! The lens works with full-frame bodies and APS-C cameras, in which case the equivalent focal length is approximately 53mm.

Weighing just 470 grams, this is the lightest 35mm f/1.4 lens for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras. It's also well-suited for video shooting thanks to the new Linear STM focusing motor and excellent focus breathing control. Autofocus is fast and smooth.

The lens structure consists of twelve elements in ten groups. Three of the lens elements are special aspherical lenses that correct distortion. There are nine diaphragm blades, so out-of-focus areas are elegantly smoothed.

Weather-sealed construction protects against dust, light rain and harsh conditions. Includes USB port for software updates.
