Designed for use with camcorders, DSLR cameras and portable audio recorders, the Rode VideoMic Pro+ takes the improvements of the previous update even further, taking into account the needs of videographers and the demands of on-camera microphones.

The VideoMic Pro+ is based on a high-quality ½-inch condenser capsule that transmits broadcast-quality audio signals via a 3.5mm mini-plug connector. The supercardioid polar pattern minimizes ambient noise from the audio track. The microphone has a built-in, Rode patented Rycote spring frame that effectively dampens handling noise and other mechanical interference.

The VideoMic Pro also includes an 80Hz bass cut and a -10 dB pad. For quieter sound sources, a +20 dB boost can be switched on, which helps to avoid the increase in noise floor caused by the SLR camera's microphone preamp.

The VideoMic Pro can be attached directly to the camera or alternatively to a microphone stand with a 3/8-inch thread.

The microphone comes with a rechargeable Rode LB-1 lion battery, which allows for up to 100 hours of continuous use. In addition, the Rode can be used with two AA batteries. The microphone can be powered by an external power source such as a power bank via the microUSB connector on the side of the microphone.
