Founded in 1967 by Henry Freedman, RØDE Microphones is one of the most legendary brands in the microphone industry. Based in Sydney, Australia, Rode manufactures and develops high-quality microphones and accessories.

Rode's first microphone, the original NT2, was released in 1990 into a world of audio that was on the verge of a huge upheaval. With the increasing power of computers, the popularity of home recording was exploding and there was a desperate need for high-quality yet affordable microphones. The NT2 was a must-have. All Rode microphones are still manufactured in the company's own factory in Sydney, Australia.

Now Rode is especially known for its microphones for videography. The popularity of podcasts has also brought more products for high-quality studio work.
