The first Olympus Pen film camera was released back in 1959. At first glance, this camera is surprisingly stylish and clearly designed for a product of the digital age. However, when you look at it from the top and back, you see the adjustment rings, buttons and a large touchscreen, which breaks the illusion and you realize that this is a digital camera. The technology of top models is packed under the outer shell, but the device still follows the most important rule of the camera world: a camera is completely useless if you don't want to or can't take it with you.

Creativity right at your fingertips

All too often, the camera is just in a bag when you're not on an actual shooting trip, or when the weather turns bad, it's hurriedly packed away for shelter. OM System has solved this by making the camera exceptionally lightweight and adding dust and splash protection to the PEN series for the first time. In practice, this means you can keep shooting even when an autumn rainstorm surprises you in the city. The included 14-42mm pancake lens is also weather-protected.

A mechanical switch on the front of the camera gives you access to sophisticated color and black and white profiles. Unlike standard smartphone image filters, these profiles allow you to fine-tune color saturation and lighting directly on the spot. You can create a nostalgic and personal look for your photos without a second of post-processing on a computer.

Pioneering intelligence features

The camera has a separate CP (Computational Photography) button, right within reach of your thumb. This refers to computational features that affect the image that previously required a computer:

• Live ND (ND16): An in-camera neutral density filter that makes flowing water, for example, look silky smooth even in bright daylight.
• Live Composite: A favorite for night photographers! The camera gradually builds the image on your screen. You can see in real time how the lights are drawn into the image.
• High Res Shot: Up to 50 megapixel high-resolution images captured directly from the handheld.

The PEN is also an effortless tool for video production and social media. It records 4K video, directly supports vertical videos important for social media platforms, and offers new OM-Cinema video profiles for a cinematic feel.
