The Nikon Monarch M5 10x50 combines the brightness of a large 50mm front lens with an exceptionally lightweight design. The binoculars are designed for situations where good light gathering ability is needed, such as birdwatching at dawn or dusk and stargazing.
A functional choice for stargazing: The large 50mm front lens collects plenty of light, which is essential for distinguishing fainter objects in the night sky. At the same time, 10x magnification is often the maximum, which is still comfortable to hold in your hand. Thanks to the fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate body, the binoculars weigh only 640g, which makes stable viewing even easier.
The binoculars' image quality is based on ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass , which reduces chromatic aberration and helps keep the image sharp. The dielectric high-reflectivity multilayer coating used in the roof prisms and the phase correction coating improve light transmission, keeping the image bright and the colors natural. The 10x magnification brings objects close, and the 105m field of view (at 1000 meters) makes it easier to observe a wider area.
The Monarch M5 is fully waterproof and can withstand immersion in water up to 1m for 10min. The internal nitrogen filling prevents the lenses from fogging during rapid temperature changes, such as when moving from a warm interior to a freezing outside. The rubber coating on the exterior protects the structure from mechanical shock and provides a firm grip in wet conditions.
Usability is facilitated by adjustable rubber eyecups and a 19.3mm eye relief, which makes it easy to find the right viewing position even with glasses. If you want to use the binoculars completely stationary for long periods of time, you can attach them to a tripod using the tripod adapter (sold separately).
