The all-new Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 STM replaces the classic Canon 50mm II lens introduced in 1990. This updated lens features a new STM focusing motor that is also suitable for video shooting. The lens uses more durable metal parts, for example the bayonet is now made of metal.

The simple design allows for very fine image quality and brightness at an affordable price. Thanks to the high brightness, the depth of field can be limited to a very short depth of field at full aperture and the out-of-focus areas are beautifully soft thanks to the 7 rounded diaphragm blades
