Nikon ME-D10 Directional Shotgun Microphone with Digital Audio Processing. A digital-era microphone that attaches directly to the Nikon ZR camera's accessory shoe. For video content creators, vlogging, interviewing, and general environmental photography.

It features four powerful MEMS microphones that combine signals to create three different directional patterns. There are also two modes to choose from - Pure mode is suitable for recording ambient sounds as they are, and Focus mode is designed for human voice.

You can choose from three microphone patterns:

• Front: records sound coming directly from the front. This shotgun directivity helps to separate, for example, the voice of the interviewee from surrounding sounds. Also records narrowly from behind the camera to include the cameraman's comments

• Rear: records sound from behind the camera.

• All: Records in a circular pattern from all around the camera. Used to record ambient sounds and even to record comments from the camera operator at the same time

The microphone's own digital audio processing brings the audio directly into the video file in digital format, eliminating the need for converting the audio to analog and back or using expensive cables.

The microphone acts directly as an AD converter, transferring the audio to the video file digitally. This direct connection eliminates many sources of noise and interference, and eliminates the need for cables.
