A compact microphone, made specifically for Sony cameras with a Multi Interface Shoe (MI) electronic accessory shoe.
Sony's directional shotgun microphone with digital audio processing. A digital-era microphone that attaches directly to the accessory shoe of a Sony camera. For video content creators, vlogging (records from the front of the camera), interviewing (records sound from the front and back) and general environmental photography (the sound pattern is all around the camera).
You can choose from three microphone patterns:
Easy-to-use rear panel for controlling microphone operation.
The microphone's own digital audio processing brings the audio directly into the video file in digital format, eliminating the need for converting the audio to analog and back or using fancy cables. Also works as an analog microphone on certain Sony cameras that do not have an MI accessory shoe.
You can select automatic digital filters to correct sudden loud noises, or to cut out extra low noise (-20, -10 or 0 dB). You can also set the overall recording volume to automatic or adjust it manually.
Changing the directional patterns is possible due to the clever design, the device actually has four separate microphones whose signals are combined in different ways. Only about 7.8 cm long, it also works well with most gimbals.
The Sony ECM-B10 is a small, new directional microphone that mounts on top of the camera. The microphone acts directly as an AD converter and transfers audio digitally to the video file. This direct connection eliminates many sources of noise and interference and requires no cables at all.
The sales package also includes a wind shield.
Digital compatibility:
With other cameras equipped with the Sony Mi accessory shoe, the microphone works as an analog microphone.
