The Manfrotto 290 Xtra is a sturdy aluminum tripod that reaches a height of 160cm. The Manfrotto 290 Xtra is almost like the Manfrotto 190 series tripod, but this one is slightly lower and the center tube cannot be adjusted horizontally like the 190 series. The legs are three-piece and lock with two quick-release fasteners. The angle of the legs can be locked in four positions and the height of the center tube is adjustable.

The Manfrotto 496RC2 is a sturdy aluminum-framed ball head equipped with a Manfrotto 200PL quick release plate, which in addition to the normal locking feature also has a friction adjuster.

The ball head has a small 1/4" thread that fits directly into the bottom of the camera or a quick-release plate adapter, and a 3/8" female thread for tripod mounting.
