The Hoya Digital Filter Kit is a high-quality filter set that includes a UV filter, a circular polarizing filter, an ND8 gray filter, a handy filter case (for 4 filters) and an English-language instruction manual.

A UV filter protects the front lens element of a lens and reduces the amount of ultraviolet light reaching the film or sensor, which is considered to soften color contrast in high mountains or on the open sea, for example. It can be kept permanently attached to the lens.

A circular polarizing filter removes reflections from, for example, water and glass and increases color saturation and contrast, for example, deepening the blue of the sky.

A neutral density (ND) filter reduces the amount of light reaching the sensor or film. An 8x filter allows you to use a 3x larger aperture or slower shutter speed. This means you can take photos with a 10x longer exposure time and still not overexpose the image.
