Hoya's best-selling protective filter in Finland
This is a basic piece of equipment for all photographers. Many lenses have large lens elements and are close to the tip of the lens, which means you will inevitably have to clean the lens with a microfiber cloth. If you clean it often, it is much more convenient to wipe this lens surface with a microfiber cloth than the surface of an expensive lens.
If the microfiber cloth is not clean or there is loose debris on the lens surface, it is much cheaper to replace a scratched protective filter. This also provides physical protection for the lens (seawater splashes, objects getting too close in macro photography, if the lens cap comes off in the camera bag).
This Hoya Fusion is a good choice in our opinion, the price is affordable but the quality is clearly better than the cheapest filters. This does not include UV filtering, which is often unnecessary because the sensor often has UV filtering and the lenses also reduce UV radiation. Often UV filters are of poorer quality and cheaper made than a genuine Protector filter.
There is an even higher quality version of the Fusion series (without the One marking) with an antistatic coating, this collects less dust and is especially suitable for those who are lazy about using lens protectors.
