The Fujinon TS-L 1640 brings telescope-level 16x magnification to handheld use in a compact size. These binoculars are designed for the user who wants to get close to their subject without the hassle of carrying a tripod. The heart of the device is its image stabilization system, which corrects movement with a wide correction angle of +-3. Despite the 16x magnification, the binoculars are comfortable to view handheld and from a moving surface, such as a car, snowmobile or boat.

The optical quality of the binoculars is designed for demanding use. Fujinon uses ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses in this model , which minimize color errors, or chromatic aberration. This is critical at high magnifications: contrasting objects, such as birds against a clear sky, are drawn sharply without disturbing purple fringing. The 40mm front lenses combined with a multi-layer coating ensure a bright image even in dim light.

Fujinon now has three model series of stabilizer binoculars:

TS- X 14x40 which is larger in size, but stable even in storms and floats in water. Also very durable.

TS 12x28 and 16x28 which are incredibly small and light, good for camping.

The now introduced TS-L 16x40 and 20x40 , which contain the best features of the above, are suitable for everyone. The weight is about 30% lighter than the TS-X models, in fact the eye relief is also larger, making it more suitable for eyeglass wearers, and the field of view is better.

The binoculars weigh only 856 grams , which is not much for a device of this power class. Focusing is done with a center focus wheel (Center Focus), which is fast and intuitive. The device has a close focus distance of 5 meters, so it is also suitable for observing slightly closer objects, such as butterflies or birdhouses. Durability and power management

The binoculars are fully waterproof with an IPX7 rating (can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes), making them a safe choice for boating and rainy days. They are powered by two standard AAA batteries (or Ni-MH batteries), which provide up to 30 hours of use.
