The DJI Flip combines image quality comparable to the popular Mini 4 Pro drone with the safety and versatile features of the Neon. The Flip is the first DJI drone to feature integrated propeller guards that fold under the drone. This allows the drone to pack down to a smaller size and is safe to fly even in tight indoor spaces.

The small, 249-gram Flip has the familiar DJI feel, making it easy to fly and shoot both photos and cinematic video. Weighing less than 250g, the drone is easier to fly in terms of drone legislation. All you need to do is register as a drone operator on the TrafiCom website.

Using cool AI features, Flip can track and capture your subject. You can film yourself cycling, hiking or doing other activities, for example, and the drone will keep you in the center of the image. There are also six different shooting modes that give your videos a new look and angle.

There are several ways to control the Flip, even without a separate controller. You can connect the included DJI RC 2 controller to the drone or use your smartphone as a controller using the DJI Fly app. The drone can also be controlled using voice commands through the app. Your phone must be connected to the drone via Wifi, and the range is limited to 50 meters.

The Flip features the same 1/1.3-inch image sensor as the Mini 4 Pro.

As standard, the Flip takes still photos with a resolution of 48 megapixels and videos with up to 4K resolution and 100 frames per second, so small-scale slow-motion images are available in high resolution. HDR shooting is also possible in both video (4K/60p) and still panoramic images. HDR achieves better dynamics with several aperture values, so that, for example, bright skies are not blocked and shadows are not blocked. It is possible to record decent slow-motion images in FullHD (1080p) quality and at a speed of 100 frames per second.

The Flip is able to crop the image from the sensor into a 2.7K resolution vertical image, which is well suited for use on phone screens. This means that the material does not need to be cropped afterwards. This is a great feature for those who want a device with which to create material mainly for social media.
