This new Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K shares its name with the previous 6K G2 and 6K Pro models, but is a new model in its own right. This camera features an L Mount mirrorless mount and a full-frame sensor instead of the smaller Super35-sized sensors of previous models.
The L-Mount bayonet is widely used in Panasonic, Sigma and Leica cameras, so the lens selection is good and with an adapter you can also use vintage lenses (as well as Canon EF and ARRI PL, for example).
The full-frame sensor enables very versatile aspect ratios and anamorphic video formats. The sensor also has an optical low-pass filter, meaning textiles or buildings do not cause the moire phenomenon. The sensor is promised a dynamic range of 13 aperture values. 6K 2.4:1 shooting is possible at 60P speed and FullHD limited version at 120P speed. In addition to Blackmagic RAW files, FullHD proxy files can be recorded at the same time.
Externally, this is very close to the other cameras in the series, and it uses the same batteries as the 6K Pro model and also has a rotating viewfinder.
