This Benro Supaduba MSD46C Monopod's lower part is equipped with a kind of bearing, meaning the rubber pin of the leg stays against the ground, while the leg rotates around its axis nicely. Works well when the leg is in a vertical position. The rubber pin can be replaced with the included ice/terrain spike.

A monopod works well on its own, especially with heavy lenses. A monopod is often used with a ball head or tilt head, which gives you even better control over all camera tilts. You can use any ball head.
