The wide 24mm focal length and f/14 aperture provide sufficient depth of field even when shooting very close up. The tube length is 40cm, so despite the very high 2x magnification ratio, you can get a long enough shooting distance even when shooting sensitive subjects. The tube is also waterproof, meaning you can put this lens in the water! So you can get pictures of marine life below the surface or in difficult conditions without any unnecessary precautions.

Laowa has placed a bright LED light at the end of the lens. This light means you don't necessarily need separate lighting and you can get clear images even of dimly lit areas.

The Laowa 24mm Probe is also compatible with full-frame Nikon cameras and works with the Nikon Z6 using an adapter. On a full-frame camera, an object approximately 18mm wide fills the entire frame, and on an APS-C sensor-sized body, an object approximately 10mm wide fills the entire frame.
