This Cine version has gears on the focus and aperture rings, allowing you to focus for videos using the follow focus motor. There is also a regular version of the lens without gears.

Venus Optics makes high-quality lenses for small target groups under the Laowa brand. This Laowa 24mm is a special lens in many ways:

Thanks to the wide 24mm focal length and f/14 aperture, the depth of field is sufficient even when shooting very close. The tube length is 40cm, so despite the very high 2x magnification ratio, you get a long enough shooting distance even when shooting sensitive subjects. The tip of the tube is also waterproof, meaning you can push this lens into the water! Note . However, the bayonet or the root of the lens is not weatherproof. So you can get pictures of marine life below the surface or in difficult conditions without unnecessary precautions.

Laowa has placed a bright LED light at the end of the lens. With the light, you don't necessarily need separate lighting and you can get clear images even of dimly lit areas.

The Laowa 24mm Probe is also compatible with full-frame Canon EF cameras and works with the EOS R using an adapter. On a full-frame camera, an object approximately 18mm wide fills the entire frame, and on an APS-C sensor-sized body, an object approximately 10mm wide fills the entire frame.
