The Tamron TAP-in Console is an accessory that allows you to upgrade and adjust your Tamron lenses. Currently, the lens dock is compatible with all new SP lenses (35mm, 45mm, 85mm and 90mm).

A compatible Tamron lens is connected to the TAP-in Console dock, after which the Tamron Tap-in Utility application (PC and MAC) allows you to adjust the lens to suit your needs and download the latest firmware.

With Tamron's TAP-in console, you can do the following:

• Updates firmware
• Customize lens functions
• Adjusts focus
• Customizing the focus distance limiter (only for lenses with Focus Limiter feature)
• Custom override of Full-time Manual Focus (only for lenses with Full-time Manual Focus)
• Adjusting the VC image stabilizer (only lenses with VC image stabilizer)
• You can save your settings in memory

Compatible Tamron lenses (as of February 2016: in order of release, starting with the newest).

• SP 85mm F/1.8 Di VC USD (Model F016): Released in March 2016 for Nikon and Canon. A Sony-compatible model will be released later.
• SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD (Model F017): Released in February 2016 for Nikon and Canon. A Sony-compatible model will be released later.
  * The lens must first be updated using the TAP-in console before special features can be used.
• SP 45mm F/1.8 Di VC USD (Model F013): Released September 2015 for Nikon and Canon. A Sony-compatible model will be released later.
  * Requires a firmware update from Tamron service center to be compatible with the Tap-in console.
• SP 35mm F/1.8 Di VC USD (Model F012): Released in September 2015 for Nikon and Canon. A Sony-compatible model will be released later.
  * Requires a firmware update from Tamron service center to be compatible with the Tap-in console.
