Tamron continues to pamper Sony photographers with new wide-angle lenses compatible with full-frame sensors. The Tamron 35mm f2.8 is compact and lightweight thanks to its reasonable aperture. On a full-frame sensor body like the Sony a7, the lens is a classic wide-angle. On an APS-C sensor camera like the A6300, this lens is equivalent to about 52.5mm focal length.

The lens also has better than usual close-up capabilities, the Tamron 35mm is not a true macro lens but the closest focusing distance is only 15cm. This allows for impressive close-ups. The Tamron 35mm features an Optimized Silent Drive focus motor and is fully compatible with Sony's advanced focusing features such as EyeAf.

The lens construction is weather and dust-proof, and the outer lens surface is coated with dirt-repellent fluorine.
