With the NL Pure series of binoculars, Swarovski targets customers who want excellent quality and a very wide field of view. A wide field of view is an advantage when you are 'scanning' the sky, spotting birds from tree branches, or when, for example, following a bird in flight.

The Swarovski NL Pure 8x42 binoculars offer one of the widest field of view in the world of binoculars, with a field of view of 159m@1000m.

Compared to the Swarovski EL series binoculars, the biggest differences between the NL Pure binoculars are the field of view and the external design.

The magnesium alloy binoculars have a new body design, and unlike the EL series binoculars, they do not have a double nightlight. Both tubes of the binoculars narrow about halfway, which makes the binoculars easier to grip. A good grip is important when, for example, you are climbing in difficult rocky terrain, and you do not want the binoculars hanging from your neck to swing and hit a rock wall or tree trunk. The better ergonomics brought by the design are also an advantage for longer binocular trips.

Swarovski binoculars are traditionally lined with a rubber coating that covers almost the entire body of the binoculars. In addition to helping protect the optics, the rubber coating also allows for a firmer grip, even when the binoculars' surface or your hands are slightly wet.

The large focus wheel, which fits comfortably under the index finger, is fast in terms of transmission. The ability to focus quickly from close to far is an asset that is especially popular with birdwatchers. The closest focusing distance is 2 meters. The diopter adjustment (+- 4 dpt) can be found behind the focus ring. The adjustment ring in question is stiffer in terms of resistance, so it does not easily move to the wrong position accidentally.
