The Sony FE 28-135mm combines the features of a Cinema and Broadcast level lens with the ability to be used with DSLR cameras. This lens is also a great fit for the Sony A7S bodies!

The lens has a Power Zoom motorized zoom, meaning that adjusting the focal length is done in a controlled and professional way. The Kooska optics are designed specifically for video use, the lens is parfocal, meaning that there is no need to refocus after zooming, and focus breathing is also kept well under control.

The aperture is fixed at F4, meaning you don't have to touch the exposure when changing focal lengths. The lens also has image stabilization.

Sony advertises the 28-135mm PZ lens as light and compact. Compared to a basic lens, this is surprising, as the Sony is quite large and weighs about 1.2kg. But when compared to Cinema lenses with similar features and usability, the scales completely turn.

There are separate adjustment rings for focal length, focus and iris. The iris can be adjusted in 1/3 aperture increments, the clicks on the adjustment ring can be turned off and the aperture adjustment can also be locked to prevent accidental changes. The focus ring has a very good feel and the surface is large and grippy, meaning it can be operated even with gloves on in demanding conditions.

In addition to the switch, the motor zoom can be controlled from the adjustment ring, which also has a focustab-style pin that helps you immediately visualize the focal length in use.

A tripod collar is also included, meaning you can use the lens without a rig because the center of gravity can be placed quite close to the center with an A7-series body.
