The Megadap ETZ21 Pro+ is not just a metal ring, it powers automatic exposure controls, image stabilization, and autofocus! The adapter supports Nikon's truly comprehensive advanced focusing features, such as eye and face focus, 3D tracking, and animal focus.

How is that physically possible? The Nikon Z mount has the largest diameter on the market and a very short distance to the sensor. Sony E-mount lenses have a narrower diameter and require a longer distance. This allows an E-mount lens to fit perfectly inside the Z-mount body, and the space in between is just enough for this slim but smart adapter.

Other important features are also retained:

• EXIF data: Focal length, aperture, and lens model are recorded correctly in images.
• Image stabilization: If the lens has built-in stabilization, it works in conjunction with the camera's IBIS in-camera stabilization (or independently on bodies without stabilization).
• Aperture ring: You can adjust the aperture either from the camera dial or from the lens's own aperture ring (if the lens has one).
• Programmable buttons: The buttons on the side of the lens (AF-L) work and are programmable from the camera menu.

Practical performance: What to expect?

It is important to understand that an adapted lens is not exactly the same as a native lens. It is worth looking into the tests and of course there are also lens-specific differences when using an adapter.

It's excellent for casual work, portraits, landscapes, and everyday photography, but for the fast-paced sports professional, we always recommend Nikon Z-compatible lenses directly.

This new Pro+ version has been upgraded from its predecessor (ETZ21 Pro) to be more physically durable. The lens release button has been improved for even greater reliability and weather resistance has been increased. The seal now better protects the connection between the camera and the adapter from dust and moisture.

Additionally, firmware updates have been made easy, you can update the adapter directly via your Nikon camera's USB connection or from a memory card, just like you would update the camera or original lens.
