Kowa 8x42 BD II binoculars

Kowa BD II 8x42 XD binoculars

These 8x binoculars are the most versatile in the collection. They are perfect for bird and nature observation. The magnification is powerful but moderate, so that you can watch handheld for long periods of time. High-quality coatings and a 42mm aperture ensure a bright image even in low light, when nature is at its most beautiful.

If you are wondering which binocular magnification and lens diameter would be best for you, this is often the one!

The updated Kowa BD series dropped the word 'Prominar' from its name, but has also been significantly improved compared to the previous model. The most striking feature of the new BDII series is the wide field of view. That is, with the same magnification, the BD binoculars show a larger area than binoculars in general. Finding objects is easier and the image transmitted through the binoculars is much more impressive.

Kowa BDII 8x42 binoculars are ideal for spotting aircraft and birds, or as a general purpose binocular for traveling. The BDII series binoculars are waterproof and nitrogen-filled, so you can use them even in the most demanding conditions, for example, by the water and in the rain. Thanks to the nitrogen filling, the binoculars do not fog up.

The BDII series of binoculars are lightweight but robust. The magnesium alloy body is weatherproof, so you can carry the binoculars with you in all situations without worry. The binoculars utilize XD lenses, which improve contrast and sharpness, bringing out details better. 2 XD lenses are installed in the objective head of each binocular. XD lens elements reduce chromatic aberration (chromatic aberration) and provide excellent resolution across the entire image area.

Kowa BD II series binoculars are lined with a rubber protective coating that helps protect the optics and allows for a firmer grip, even when the surface of the binoculars is slightly wet.

Focusing is done via a relatively large and roughened focus wheel in the middle of the binoculars, which is very easy to handle. The focus ring has a nice, solid feel. The closest focus distance is 1.8 meters. Focusing from the closest focus distance to infinity requires about one and a half turns.

The fact that the closest focusing distance is only 1.8m makes it possible to use the binoculars to view objects at close range, such as insects or plants.
