Kowa 6.5x32 BD II XD binoculars

Kowa BD II 6.5x32 XD binoculars

The updated Kowa BD series dropped the word 'Prominar' from its name, but is also a significant improvement over the previous model. The 6.5x magnification is also something new that was not in the previous BD series, and when compared to binoculars from other manufacturers, this magnification is rare.

Tip: This binocular model is also great for stargazing! You can distinguish objects much more clearly than with the naked eye. In addition, thanks to the 6.5x magnification, the image remains very stable without a tripod. For more advanced stargazers, binoculars are also a good help as a companion to a telescope in preliminary locating objects.

Kowa BDII are also suitable for demanding conditions thanks to their water resistance. You can use the binoculars without worry in the rain and even in wet weather, the lens surfaces will not fog up on the inside. Due to their physical size, the binoculars are also an excellent companion for hiking and walking, helping you observe nature.

With 6.5x magnification and a wide field of view, these binoculars are ideal for young children and older people. The low magnification is very forgiving if you have a slightly unsteady hand, and the wide field of view makes it easy to locate the target with your eyes.

The BDII series of binoculars are lightweight but robust. The magnesium alloy body is weatherproof, so you can carry the binoculars with you in all situations without worry. The binoculars utilize XD lenses, which improve contrast and sharpness, bringing out details better. 2 XD lenses are installed in the objective head of each binocular. XD lens elements reduce chromatic aberration (chromatic aberration) and provide excellent resolution across the entire image area.

The nitrogen-filled Kowa BD II series binoculars are lined with a rubber protective coating that helps protect the optics and allows for a firmer grip, even when the surface of the binoculars is slightly wet.

Focusing is done via a relatively large and roughened focus wheel in the middle of the binoculars, which is very easy to handle. The focus ring has a nice, solid feel. The closest focus distance is a very short 1.3 meters. It takes about one and a half turns to focus from the closest focus distance to infinity.

The fact that the closest focusing distance is only 1.3m makes it possible to use the binoculars to view objects at close range, such as insects or plants.
