The Genelec 9000A is a wired stereo volume control designed for desktop use, making the use of active speakers much more convenient. It is the perfect accessory, especially between your computer and Genelec speakers (e.g. G-series or 8000-series), allowing you to forget about software-based volume control with a mouse.

The controller is suitable for use with all Genelec active speakers and is available in three stylish colors: white, black and dark gray.

A feeling of being designed in advance

Although the basic idea of ??the device is simple, the 9000A stands out with its exceptional quality. The metal control, weighing over 300 grams, stays firmly in place on the desk and does not slip away with the cable. The control wheel itself has a wide range of motion and is very sensitive, which provides excellent tactile feedback and allows you to set the volume precisely without looking at the device itself.

The design follows the familiar and stylish Genelec design language – the device actually looks like a miniature Genelec subwoofer!

Connection and cabling

The device has one fixed, Y-shaped cable. One meter from the controller, the cable splits into two meter-long branches: one for audio input (3.5 mm male/plug) and the other for audio output (3.5 mm female/jack).

1. Connecting to an audio source:
The 3.5 mm male connector (plug) of the controller fits directly into the headphone/line output of most computers, phones and mobile devices. If your audio source has RCA outputs, you will need a separately sold conversion cable (2x RCA male -> 3.5 mm female).

2. Connecting to speakers (Note! Most often requires an additional cable):
A Y-split cable is required between the controller and the speakers, which runs from the controller's 3.5 mm female connector to the left and right speakers.

• Professional monitors (e.g. 8000 series): You will need a cable with a 3.5 mm stereo plug (male) and two XLR connectors on the other end.
• Home speakers (e.g. G-series): You need a cable with a 3.5 mm stereo plug (male) and two RCA connectors on the other end.

Note! The Y-cable for speakers is not included in the 9000A sales package.
