The DJI Matrice 400 is DJI’s flagship Enterprise drone, offering 59 minutes of flight time and the ability to carry up to 6kg of payload and 7 accessories at once. The IP55-rated, water and dust resistant drone supports multiple accessories and payloads and features an advanced AR-based obstacle detection system. The device uses the O4 Enterprise protocol for communication.
The basic packages of the Matrice 400 series drones do not include payloads, but the drone is always equipped for the customer's desired purpose. The drone is delivered as standard with one payload mount and the number of mounts can be increased with accessories. The drone has 4 E-Port V2 ports ready for attaching payloads and the ports can be branched.
Possible payloads for the Matrice 400 include:
The Matrice 400 drones’ advanced obstacle detection system reliably detects even small objects, such as power lines – even at night, in hilly areas and in fog. The combination of LiDAR, mmWave and twilight sensors enables stable flight even near objects that are challenging for traditional sensors, such as glass facades, wind turbines and building edges.
The advanced recognition system also enables take-offs and landings from moving objects such as ships.
The DJI Matrice 400 can also be equipped with a Manifold 3 computer, which provides 100 TOPS of computing power directly to the drone. The computer, weighing approximately 120 grams, allows developers to build new computing-intensive features directly into the drone, for example for energy inspections and general safety.
The Matrice 400 drone uses DJI’s new TB100 smart battery, which lasts up to 400 charge cycles, includes heating for cold conditions, active cooling, and fast charging. The TB100C tether battery is suitable for third-party systems, such as lighting and communications equipment. For continuous operation, the drone has provisions for automatic docking stations.
The new BS100 charging station charges three TB100 flight batteries and two WB37 controller batteries simultaneously.
NOTE: The basic delivery of the device does not include batteries or a charging station.
The Matrice 400 (EU) SP Plus Combo comes with 12 months of DJI Care Enterprise coverage, which covers in addition to the standard warranty, errors caused by the pilot's own actions. Care Enterprise also includes an expedited maintenance procedure. The coverage ensures the maximum possible uptime for your equipment and gives you peace of mind against damage to expensive equipment.
Care Enterprise does not cover attached accessories, so please remember to ensure proper protection for your accessories as well.

Compared to the previous Matrice 350 RTK model, the Matrice 400 offers several improvements. The flight time has been increased from 42 to 59 minutes and the device's wind resistance has been improved from the previous one (23 m/s vs 25 m/s). However, the biggest difference with the old model comes in the payload, as the previous machine had a maximum payload of 2.7kg while the current model can carry up to 6kg.
There have also been clear improvements to safety and sensors. The Matrice 400 features a rotating LIDAR module, six-way mmWave radar, and higher-resolution cameras. Together, these improve obstacle detection compared to the previous model.
Due to improved sensor technology, new features have been added to the Matrice 400's flight mode, such as real-time terrain recognition and terrain-following.
For the transmission signal, the Matrice 400 uses the new O4 protocol, while the 350 uses the older O3 protocol. The recommended transmission distance for the EU/CE model is now up to 20km, compared to 8km for the previous 350 model. The controller now supports sub-2G transmission frequencies in environments with high signal interference. The Matrice 400 also features Airborne Relay, which allows one device to act as a control signal transmitter for another device.
