The Canon Legria HF G70 is an easy-to-use and reliable camcorder that produces impressive footage effortlessly. The camcorder is well suited for corporate videos, documentation, online advertising shoots, nature videos, and streaming via a computer.

The camera has its own internal microphone as well as a 3.5mm microphone jack and headphone jack, so you can monitor the quality of the recording while you're recording. The camera has advanced automatic functions (for example, focus with face detection) , but the manual functions make this camcorder suitable for more demanding use.

The video image quality is ensured by a 1/2.3” CMOS sensor and Canon's Digic DV6 processor. The lens is equipped with a 20x zoom with a field of view equivalent to 29.3–601mm cine optics. The aperture value of the optics is f/1.8–2.8 and the optical and digital image stabilization is 5-axis.

The Canon HF G70 records 4K UHD video in 8-bit and 4:2:0 format at 30 or 25fps. Recording is done on two internal SD cards. Full HD videos are available at 60 or 50fps and are upsampled from 4k resolution. Full HD videos can be recorded to an external recorder via the HDMI output in 10-bit 4:2:2 format. Streaming to the internet is possible via the USB-C connector in Full-HD resolution.

The diaphragm is 8-blade and the filter thread is 58mm. The tilting screen is 3.5” (8.8cm) with a resolution of 2.76 million dots and the tilting electronic viewfinder has a resolution of 1.77M pixels.
