Zhiyun Smooth 5S AI is an aluminum-built and sturdy electronic stabilizer for smartphones. The 3-axis stabilizer allows for cinematic smooth and stable video footage with ease. This is the perfect companion for live streaming, vlogging or even social media videos.

The Zhiyun Smooth 5S AI does not include AI features itself, but it can be combined with a separately purchased AI Tracker, which enables automatic subject tracking and gesture control. There is a fixed LED light on the arm and the option to connect two additional lights that can be purchased separately.

The Smooth 5S has a load capacity of 150-300g , which means it can support and stabilize even larger phones, such as the iPhone 14 Pro Max, Oneplus 10 Pro, Huawei Mate 50 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Compared to the Smooth Q3, the Smooth 5S gimbal arm is slightly more angular and longer, giving you a better grip on the device.

The stabilizer's handle has clear buttons that are clearly labeled as to what each does. On the side of the handle is a large control wheel for Follow-Focus . The control wheel is dual-function, as it allows you to adjust the focus and zoom, bringing more possibilities to mobile photography than before.

One great shooting mode in the stabilizer is the Vertigo effect , which is a visual effect that simulates perspective changes.

According to the manufacturer, the battery life of the Zhiyun Smooth 5S AI is up to 26 hours at best. This 26 hours is achieved when the device is in the so-called sleep mode. When the LED light in the stabilizer is used at its brightest and the stabilizer is actually used, the battery life is about 2.3 hours. During use, the stabilizer can also be charged via a power bank. You can also charge your phone directly via the Smooth5S AI using a cable.

The Smooth 5S features Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with the free ZY Cami software (available for Apple and Google smart devices). ZY Cami enables new shooting modes such as timelapse and automatic panoramas. Bluetooth allows you to control your phone directly from the gimbal without any additional cables.

The stabilizer has a 1/4" camera screw slot on the bottom for balancing on a tripod, for example. You can also attach a monopod to the 1/4" thread, allowing you to perform fine jib lifts with the gimbal.
