The new addition to DJI's Ronin series, the small but powerful RS 3 Mini offers big features in a smaller size. The stabilizer weighs only 795 grams but has a payload capacity of up to 2kg.
The Mini features the same third-generation technology found in the more robust DJI Ronin RS 3 Pro gimbal. The algorithm is 20% more stable than the RS 2 gimbal, improving low-angle shots, shooting while running, or changing the angle of view from top to bottom or vice versa.
The gimbal can be converted to vertical shooting without any additional parts thanks to the new quick-release system; the camera is attached directly to the vertical axis of the gimbal when shooting vertical video.
The battery is in the DJI RS 3 Mini gimbal handle. The battery can shoot for about 10 hours, and charges in about 2.5 hours with 18W PowerDelivery charging.
The RS 3 Mini stabilizer also works with the DJI Ronin app, allowing you to control the gimbal remotely with your smartphone. Using Bluetooth, you can wirelessly control the camera's record button, start and stop, directly from the stabilizer's 1.4" screen. For other camera adjustments, you will need a camera control cable.
