The Vallerret Alta ArcticMitt collection is designed for the coldest winter temperatures. The photography gloves are suitable for photography trips, winter stargazing, northern lights photography, or even sleigh rides. The manufacturer does not directly state the frost limits for its gloves, but based on user experiences online, the gloves can handle temperatures below -20 degrees (it also largely depends on what kind of inner glove is underneath).

The cold is not fun at all. It is also not fun to have your fingers frozen and numb when you should be handling the camera. With the Alta OverMitt mittens you don't have to worry about this. With these mittens you can handle temperatures over -20 degrees , of course it depends on what kind of undergloves you have.

These gloves can be worn under any Vallerret camera glove, or indeed any other glove. When you need to handle your camera, open the long zipper on the palm side of the gloves, exposing your fingers ready to handle your camera. There is a small pocket at the wrist of the gloves where you can store small accessories.

Material

The Alta Arctic-Mitt is like a sleeping bag for your hand. The mitten's fluffy Primaloft insulation layer keeps the cold outside the mitten and the warmth inside. Goat leather, laminated twill fabric and suede with a DWR (Durable water repellent) treatment make the Alta Over-Mitt windproof and insulating. The FlipTech YKK weatherproof and sturdy zipper helps keep moisture out.
