A renewed version of Tamron's legendary 90mm macro lens for Sony's full-frame mirrorless SLR cameras. The short 90mm telephoto lens is suitable for macro photography and portrait photography, for example. A great choice for walking trips or close-ups when you want to capture details but still have enough sharpness for demanding portraiture.
For the first time, a Tamron lens features twelve rounded diaphragm blades that produce a stunning circular bokeh and starburst effect. It features four Low Dispersion lens elements and a BBAR-G2 lens coating that reduces chromatic aberration and flare.
The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear focus motor is a familiar Tamron quality in terms of speed and accuracy. The quiet focus motor is also useful for video shooting.
Lens updates via the USB port with Tamron Lens Utility software allow for lens settings adjustments and, of course, firmware updates.
The lens has the same 67mm filter thread as Tamron's Sony-compatible zooms. Using special filters such as ND or polarization is advantageous because one and the same filter is sufficient for the entire model series. A new type of lens hood is included, with an opening door for rotating the filter.
