When you want to do it all with one lens! The Tamron 25-200mm is suitable for all kinds of photography. Whether it's wide landscapes, family gatherings, or simply turning the zoom slightly, you'll have focal lengths suitable for sports and nature photography.
Tamron 25-200mm is a new superzoom lens for Sony's full-frame cameras. The manufacturer previously had a 28-200mm version, but at the wide-angle end, every millimeter counts. In addition to the focal length, the lens coating is more durable and the zoom works smoother, and the coatings that reduce unwanted reflections on the lenses have been updated. Although the name says G2, like Tamron, meaning this is a renewed version, it could be a completely new model.
Despite the longer focal length, the lens has retained the same lightweight and compact design, weighing only 575g and measuring approximately 12cm. The aperture in the wide-angle position is also a rare F2.8 for such long lenses, meaning that even low-light photography is possible.
The closest focusing distance is 16cm at 25mm focal length and 0.8m at 200mm telephoto. The lens is very similar to Tamron's other highly popular lenses (28-75 and 70-180), the filter thread is the same 67mm. Sony's advanced focusing features such as EyeAF and DMF also work fully with the lens and it uses a fast VXD focusing motor.
